The Democratic Republic of the Congo have used twelve of Pollyanna's most popular paintings of domestic cats on a series of postage stamps.
The stamps also bear the Rotary logo which is used on stamp issues printed in developing countries to commemorate Rotary anniversaries, conventions, conferences and to support Polio Plus, the Rotary program to eliminate polio.
As always Pollyanna's subjects have been painted from real life, and two of her own cats are included in the images selected "It is amazing to think that my cats are being used to post letters on the other side of the world - and will be treasured by collectors for years to come" she commented.
We will have a limited number of sets of the stamps signed by Pollyanna on sale during our forthcoming Summer Exhibition. Pollyanna has previously painted a series of twelve owl stamps for another African country, the Republic of Benin.
