Pollyanna is honoured to have been commissioned by Naturewatch to paint two first day cover envelopes to celebrate the release of the Royal Mail's recent set of photographic stamps featuring woodland animals.
Pollyanna's paintings perfectly complement the charming series of photographs taken by leading wildlife photographers including Laurie Campbell and Mark Hamblin. Animals depicted include the pine marten, roe deer, yellow-necked mouse, Scottish wildcat, stoat and natterer's bat. Pollyanna selected two of the subjects - the red squirrel and badger - to highlight in her sensitive studies for the envelopes. The stamps and first day covers were issued on the 16th September.
We have been able to obtain just 100 of each envelope, which will be available - framed and signed by Pollyanna - at our Christmas exhibition (contact us).
