Art of Conservation Exhibition

Pollyanna is delighted that original work inspired by her expedition into Bhutan has been selected for inclusion in the Artists For Conservation Society’s inaugural exhibition in New York which will feature the work of top wildlife artists from around the world including Robert Bateman and Guy Coheleach.

The exhibition will support the Wildlife Conservation Society, with a percentage of all sales being donated to the charity. A coffee table book published to commemorate the exhibition will feature Pollyanna’s painting of a red panda (below) along with a chapter dedicated to her expedition. the exhibition will run from 10th September – 21st December 2008 at the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum, 20 minutes drive from downtown Manhatten

On the 26th September at 7.30pm The Artists For Conservation Society have invited Pollyanna to give a 20 minute presentation detailing the highlights of her flag expedition to Bhutan at the gala weekend of their inaugural exhibition. The evening will also feature short presentations by two other artists, and a buffet. Tickets are strictly limited and must be booked in advance.

For those not able to attend the event, renowned wildlife documentary maker, Norm Lightfoot has been commissioned to capture highlights of the opening weekend on film. The AFC intend to stream highlights from the event and the talks on their web site – further details will follow when available.

On the 28th September 1.00pm – 5.00pm Pollyanna will be among the artists present at an afternoon ‘Meet the Artists’ reception, which will provide visitors to the gallery with the opportunity to meet some of the world’s top wildlife artists, and learn about their work.
