December 14 - Paul O'Grady Picks the Winner!
The winning ticket in the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation 2014 Winter Prize draw has been drawn by comedy legend Paul O'Grady MBE. The lucky winner, Mrs Greaves of Leicestershire has won an original painting of Garden Birds.

November 14 - Wildworks Exhibition
As a patron of The Born Free Foundation, Pollyanna was delighted to be asked to create a special piece of original work to celebrate their thirtieth anniversary. The resulting study of two painted tigers on a sketched landrover was exhibited at the prestigious Clarendon Fine Art Gallery, Mayfair, in an exhibition entitled WILDWORKS.

November 14 - Pollyanna Pickering Foundation funds Badger Vaccination
Pollyanna was delighted to present Debbie Bailey of the High Peak Badger Group with a cheque for £1,000.00 – the initial funds raised by the Safe Haven campaign.

October 14 - Pollyanna attends DSWF Thirtieth Anniversary celebrations
Pollyanna was delighted to help fellow wildlife artist David Shepherd celebrate a fantastic landmark - 30 years of conservation through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. The event was marked with a spectacular Wildlife Ball at The Dorchester, London.

September 14 - Pollyanna to be Patron of the World’s Top International Wildlife Art Festival
Pollyanna is honoured to have been invited to accept the role of patron to the world's top conservation-themed art exhibition - The 5th annual Artists for Conservation Festival in Vancouver, Canada.

July 14 - Pollyanna hosts Born Free Thirtieth Anniversary Event
Pollyanna was delighted to welcome Virginia McKenna OBE, founder of the Born Free Foundation to her gallery in Derbyshire for a celebration day to mark the thirtieth anniversary of this remarkable charity.
Tickets for the event sold out completely, and Pollyanna and Virginia spent the whole day signing copies of a specially created limited edition calendar in Pollyanna's crowded gallery (above).

May 14 - The Pollyanna Pickering award for the Best Depiction of the Living World
Pollyanna was delighted to present a brand new trophy which bears her name at the Fine Art Trade Guild’s annual gala dinner on the 17th May - The Pollyanna Pickering award for the Best Depiction of the Living World.

February 14 - Pollyanna teams up with Brian May to save badgers!
Pollyanna is delighted to have joined forces with legendary guitarist Brian May in a new venture to help raise funds for the vaccination of badgers.Pollyanna created a new painting of badgers ‘Safe Haven’ live on television, which is now to be released as a limited edition print. Brian has co-signed the first 10 prints with Pollyanna.

January 14 - Pollyanna elected member of Fine Art Trade Guild
Pollyanna was honoured to be elected a member of the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild.

October 13 - Pollyanna attends Hope For Apes
Sir David Attenborough welcomed distinguished conservation luminaries, leading wildlife film and media professionals and eminent primate experts, to a gala evening at the Savoy hotel celebrating the work of the world's leading ape conservationists.

September 13 - Pollyanna is finalist in Art and Framing Industry Awards
Pollyanna was honoured when the Association of Animal Artists asked if they could nominate her on behalf of the association to be considered for the ‘Best Selling Published Artist’ category at The Art and Framing Industry Awards. Pollyanna was delighted to be named as a finalist on her very first nomination!

August 13 - Pollyanna and Simon Groom Deliver Bid
As joint patrons of the Friends of the Pavilion Group Pollyanna and former Blue Peter presenter Simon Groom made a very special journey to deliver a formal bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund.

August 13 - Live One Hour TV Specials to showcase Pollyanna's papercrafting DVD
Pollyanna made a series of live television appearances on Create and Craft during August to promote a brand new product featuring her artwork. The bumper British Wildlife DVD ROM which features over 40 images and a massive amount of printable sheets has been produced by Creative Crafting World.

July 13 - Stephen Fry Picks a Winner
The winning ticket of the 2013 Pollyanna Pickering Foundation grand prize draw has been drawn by Stephen Fry - actor, TV presenter - and all-round national Treasure! (above right with Pollyanna).The prize draw was held in conjuction with Pollyanna's Exhibition 'Last Chance to Paint....?'

March 13 - New Charity Shop to Support Foundation
Pollyanna is delighted to have officially opened a brand new venture in Bolsover, Derbyshire which will raise funds to support the work of The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation.

February 13 - Pollyanna backs Badger Petition
As a patron of The Badger Trust and Naturewatch Pollyanna is backing calls by both organistaions to prevent the to stop the proposed badger cull and to implement instead the more sustainable and humane solution of vaccination, improved testing and better biosecurity.

January 13 - Pollyanna Contributes to Tetley Tea Book
Everyone enjoys a nice cup of tea and a sit down – and Pollyanna has been asked to contribute a story about her most memorable cup of tea to a brand new book! To commemorate their 175th anniversary, Tetley have created the UK’s first ‘tea table’ book titled You, Me and a Cup of Tea

November 12 - Association of Animal Artists Award
Pollyanna’s painting ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ (above) scooped the first prize in it’s category in the first ever Association of Animal Artist Annual Awards.

October 12 - Artists For Conservation - Simon Combes Award
We are proud to announce that Pollyanna has received the most prestigeous International Award in the field of Wildlife Art. She was awarded the Artists for Conservation's Simon Combes Conservation award for 2012, recognizing her support for conservation through her artistic talents during the Artists for Conservation Festival Gala in front of a VIP crowd on October 12th, 2012 in Canada.

September 12 - Pollyanna Visits Foundation's Painted Dog Project in Namibia
Pollyanna took the opportunity to visit one of the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation’s recent projects. In 2011 the Foundation paid £8,700.00 – the equivalent of $94,0000.00 Namibian dollars - to build a huge enclosure – over 8 hectares - (above) at the N/a’an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia.

August 12 - Pollyanna visits Rwanda to paint Mountain Gorillas
In August 2012 Pollyanna and her daughter and business partner Anna-Louise found themselves sitting in deep undergrowth just a few feet away from a young mountain gorilla in the Virunga mountains in Rwanda. Despite having been fortunate enough to travel across five continents and to observe many endangered species in their natural habitats, Anna-Louise described her experiences of sitting quietly in the midst of a group of gorillas as ‘one of the most magical days of my life’.

July 12 - Virginia McKenna Picks the Winner
At the end of the Wildness Celebration Day, held in Pollyanna's gallery in Derbyshire, Born Free Founder Virginia McKenna joined Pollyanna to draw the winning tickets in the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation Prize Draw.

July 12 - Wildness Book Launch and Signing
Pollyanna was delighted to welcome Virginia McKenna, founder of the Born Free Foundation to her gallery for a celebration day to officially launch her new book 'Wildness'. This beautiful book is a collaboration between Pollyanna, and Richard Bonfield, poet in residence for the Born Free Foundation.

May 12 - Pollyanna Opens New Wildlife Hospital
More than 500 people turned up to see Pollyanna officially cut the ribbon and open the brand new purpose built Kibworth Wildlife Hospital and Education centre. The Leicester Wildlife hospital itself has been running for nearly 20 years taking in all kinds of sick injured and orphaned wildlife from Leicestershire and surrounding counties. With space at a premium, a larger facility was urgently needed.

March 12 - Pollyanna returns from Expedition to Vietnam and Thailand
In February 2012 Pollyanna set out on her latest expedition to study and paint endangered species. The jungles of Vietnam and Thailand are home to a diverse range of wildlife – from Indochinese tigers to langurs & elephants. Pollyanna spent six weeks trekking in National Parks and nature reserves.

March 12 - Conservation Partnership - Bhutan
Pollyanna is proud to announce that she has accepted the official role of Conservation Partner to the Wildlife Conservation Division of the Department of Forests and Park Services of Bhutan.

February 12 - International Writing Competition Winners Announced
At the end of the 2011 Pollyanna had the difficult but enjoyable task of reading the many entries in the ‘Tales For Wildlife’ International Children’s writing competition. Launching the competition was Pollyanna’s first act in her new role as Global Ambassador for Australian organisation Wildlife Warrior The overall winning story is ‘The Lesson of the Cheetah’ by nine year old Jenna Townsend from Houston, Texas.

January 12 - Pollyanna and Anna-Louise become Patrons of Parrotaid
Pollyanna and her daughter Anna-Louise are pleased to have accepted the roles of joint patrons of the organisation Parrotaid, a non profit making organisation to help injured neglected unwanted and abused parrots of all shapes and sizes

December 11 - Rob Brydon Picks a Winner
The winning ticket in the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation Winter Prize draw hes been drawn by comedian Rob Brydon. Through the sale of prize draw tickets the Foundation has raised £1,500.00 for the South Yorkshire Badger Trust.

December 11 - Pollyanna Wins Environmental Concern Award
Pollyanna is honoured to have won the inaugural Envionmental Concern Award in the 2011 Wildscape Wildlife Artist of the Year Awards, for her dramatic painting 'What Have We Done.........'.

November 11 Free online issue of Bare Essentials magazine
Pollyanna's daughter and business partner Anna-Louise has contributed an 8 page article looking at the importance of using images to raise awarenes of Conservation projects in the Nov/Dec of the Australian magazine BARE ESSENTIALS. September 11 - Pollyanna Opens Cats Protection League Centre
Pollyanna officially opened the Derby Cats Protection League adoption centre, ‘cutting the ribbon’ and officially opening their brand new reception area, and care annex which provides 15 extra pens.

June 11 - Pollyanna becomes Global Ambassador for Wildlife Warriors
Pollyanna is honoured to have accepted the post of Global Ambassador for Australian based conservation group Wildlife Warriors.

May 11 - Pollyanna Designs Logo for American Big Cat sanctuary
Pollyanna has provided the artwork for the new logo fo an American charity - the Lions Tiger and Bears Rescue Sanctuary based in California.

Apr 11 - Pollyanna becomes patron of Pavillion Appeal
Pollyanna has agreed to become Patron of “The Friends of the Grand Pavilion”, a group supporting the regeneration of the disused Victorian Pavilion in Matlock Bath to create a multi purpose arts and entertainment centre.

Mar 11 - Pollyanna's Blindfold Walk for Guide Dogs for the Blind

Feb 11 - Pollyanna becomes Patron of ABC Sanctuary
Pollyanna is honoured to have accepted the role of patron to the ABC Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary was founded by actress and animal lover Alexandra Bastedo best known for her role in cult TV series The Champions.

Jan 11 - Princess Elizabeth de Croy - in memorium
Pollyanna was very saddened to hear of the death of Princess Elizabeth de Croy, a tireless campaigner for the welfare of animals on the International Stage. Princess Elizabeth worked tirelessly for animals all around the world for more than 40 years, seeking to stop cruelty and advance animal welfare legislation.

Dec 10 - Hope For Apes
At the end of 2010 distinguished conservation luminaries, eminent primate experts, a group of African drummers and nearly 1,500 people gathered in London for an evening of fascinating and inspirational talks which shone the spotlight on the plight of apes and the forests in which they live. Pollyanna was delighted to be among the conservationsts at a VIP reception held before the event at the Lyceum theatre.

Dec 10 - Anna-Lousie photographs WSPA Christmas card

Sept 10 - Canvas auctioned at Christies for Tusk
A canvas of one of Pollyanna’s paintings ‘Rock of Ages’ was auctioned at Christies auction house in London to raise funds for the work of the charity Tusk.

Aug 10 - Pollyanna Pickering Foundation Funds rescue of Asiatic Moonbear
We are delighted to announce that the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation has been able to fund the rescue of a monnbear from a bile farm in Vietnam.

June 10 - Pride of Northampton Sculpture
Pollyanna was joined by Virginia McKenna to officially unveil one of the most unusual pieces of artwork she has ever completed! ‘Good Morning Africa’ is a life size lion sculpture, designed and painted by Pollyanna as part of the Pride of Northampton event.

June 10 - Pollyanna Stages Beyond the Great Wall Exhibition

Feb 10 - Celebrity Launch for Prize Draw
Famous faces from stage and screen visited Pollyanna to lend their support to the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation’s first fundraising campaign of 2010. Popular actress Liza Goddard joined Christopher Cazenove and Coronation Street’s Jack Ellis to officially launch the annual prize draw.

In January 2010 Pollyanna made her first return journey to China in fifteen years, travelling far beyond the legendary Great Wall in search of some of the country’s most endangered species.

Nov 09 - Pollyanna named Entrepeneur of the Year
Pollyanna was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the inaugural The Derbyshire Times Business Awards in a glittering ceremony at Hassop Hall. The award was created to recognise an outstanding individual who best demonstrates exceptional vision and leadership in the establishment and development of an owner-led business.

July 09 - Born Free 25th Anniversary Exhibition

June 09 - Unique Print raises £1,000.00 for Born Free
Pollyanna was delighted when a print of her pianting of 'Sinbad' the lion raised £1,000 at the auction at the Pride in Park ball on the 6th June.

May 09 - Pollyanna welcomes John Hurt as patron of Quad
In her role as a member of the development commitee of new Derby Arts Centre Quad, Pollyanna was pleased to welcome actor John Hurt as patron at a celebration dinner at the Cathedral Quarter Hotel.

April 09 - Pollyanna returns from Ethiopia Expedition
In the Spring of 2009 Pollyanna undertook one of her most challenging expeditions to date – to sketch and paint the rarest wolf in the world. Accompanied by her daughter and business partner Anna-Louise she travelled to the remote and inhospitable Bale mountain regions, where she stayed and worked with the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Project.

Mar 09 - Pollyanna commended at Women in Public Life Awards
Pollyanna was one of three women commended for their achievements in the Business Woman of the Year award category at the Women in Public Life Awards. The award rewarded the most influential business woman that parliamentarians identifed as having made an outstanding contribution within the business sector during the past year.

Oct 08 - AFC Show Companion Book
To accompany the exhibition ‘The Art of Conservation’ the Artists for Conservation Foundation have published a show companion book. In addition the book highlights the flag expedition programme – and there is an entire chapter dedicated to Pollyanna’s fellowship expedition into Bhutan.

Sept 08 - Pollyanna attends Art of Conservation Exhibition New York
Pollyanna was pleased to attend the gala opening weekend of the inaugural exhibition of the Artists for Conservation ehibition in New York. The exhibition celebrates artistic excellence in the depiction of nature, raises awareness of conservation issues.

Aug 08 - Work Selected for Exhibition in New York

July 08 - Land of the Thunder Dragon Exhibition
In June 2008 Pollyanna was proud to open her private gallery for the first major exhibition of over fifty paintings inspired by five weeks trekking and camping in the remote Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, one of the world's last true wilderness environments.

June 08 - Pollyanna unveils Yeti sketch
While trekking in Bhutan Pollyanna visited a very remote Buddhist monastery, where she got in to conversation with the sole caretaker monk, who took her into a part of the temple which was hardly ever shown to either foreign or Bhutanese visitors.

May 08 - Pollyanna supports TWASI membership Drive
The Wildlife Art Society International are one of the largest and best recognised Wildlife Art Societies. However they are keen to continue to expand their community of artists, and have recently launched a membership drive. As one of the patrons of the society, Pollyanna is lending her support to this initiative.

The latest documentary about Pollyanna's work ‘Made in England’ was broadcast Wednesday April 23 on BBC1.

Mar 08 - Pollyanna becomes honorary member of Rotary
The Matlock Rotary Club have inducted Pollyanna into the society as an honorary member in recognition by both the club and the local community of “Pollyanna’s outstanding contribution, both nationally and internationally to wildlife conservation through her many works of art depicting species in this country and overseas”.

Mar 08 - Pollyanna gives her backing to Spotlight on China Campaign
In her role as patron of Naturewatch, Pollyanna has given her backing to their new 'Spotlight on China Campaign'. The Project's ultimate goal is to help the Chinese authorities introduce and enforce animal welfare laws for the purpose of protecting domestic, farmed and captive animals in China.

Feb 08 - Cheetah Conservation Weekend in Pollyanna's Gallery
In February Pollyanna opened her gallery for a special weekend in support of cheetah conservation. Vanessa Bezuidenhout (above left) director of the De Wildt Cheetah and Conservation Trust flew over from South Africa for the event and was present in the gallery throughout.

Jan 08 - Honorary Degree

Nov 07 - Pollyanna wins excellence in the community Award

Feb 07 - Pollyanna to Undertake WNAG flag expedition
Pollyanna is delighted to announce that she has been granted a fellowship from Canada based society The Worldwide Nature Artists Group in support of her next expedition into the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Pollyanna is the first woman ever to be granted a fellowship by the group – and the first artist to be selected from outside Canada or North America.
