Pollyanna is most pleased when her work can be used to support the work of charities which help animal welfare, and other concerns close to her heart.
Very many charities have commissioned work to raise much needed funds from sales of exclusive Christmas cards, prints and gift ware. These include Oxfam (1974), the Peak national Park (1975 and 1981), and the RSPB (since 1983). Pollyanna painted their 1994 “Birds of Britain” Calendar and has since painted over 20 Christmas cards for the charity. In 1989 the RSPB also commissioned Pollyanna to paint and present an original painting to their president Magnus Magnusson in honour of their Centenary.
In 1985 Pollyanna began her close ongoing association with The Guide Dogs for the Blind, who chose one of her paintings for their first ever limited edition print published in 1994. By 1998 their catalogue featured over 60 of her designs - and she continues to paint Christmas cards and giftware for them annually.
Her work has been commissioned and published by many other charities - including , the World Wide Fund for Nature, the Born Free Foundation, The National Trust, the Cats Protection League, The Dogs Trust, The PDSA, Blue Cross The World Society for The Protection of Animals, The International Fund for Animal Welfare, Nedscan, (who in 1994 commissioned a painting of Sandringham Lightening - a pigeon owned and raced by Her Majesty the Queen to be presented annually as the trophy of the Chatsworth Race), - The Natural Medicine Society, Wood Green Animal Shelters, the Cleft Lip and Palette Association, the International Sheep Dog Society , the National Canine Defense League, Rescued Animals in Need, The Sturge-Weber Foundation, the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, The National Animal Welfare Trust, The Owl Barn,The Royal Vetinary College Animal Care Trust, The Animal Trust, Care for the Wild , the The Council for the Preservation of Rural England, Naturewatch , Brooke Hospital for Animals, The Wildlife Trusts , the Royal National Institute for the Blind, Compassion in World Farming , The Zoological Society of London and the Kennel Club Charitable Trust and The Born Free Foundation - as well as many other smaller charities and organisations.

In 2004 she designed a new logo for United Yorki Rescue in the US! More recently she has designed logos for the ABC Animal Sanctuary, of which she is a patron, and the Lions, Tigers and Bears Sanctuary in California.
In 2001 Pollyanna founded her own charitable organisation - The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation which raises funds for conservation and disaster relief world-wide.
The forthcoming book 'Wildness' is a collaboration with the Born Free Foundation's poet in residence Richard Bonfield, and will raise funds for the organisation.
Pollyanna's work also features in the book 'Ackroyds Ark - Two by Two' which raises funds for Tusk.
